OpenAI, Google join dozens of tech companies to call for urgent action against AI-powered threats

OpenAI, along with Google and more than 100 other tech firms, has called for urgent action to strengthen cybersecurity against AI‑powered threats. In an open letter, the company warned that AI‑enabled cyber attacks will grow more widespread and sophisticated as models improve, putting hospitals, water plants, and internet infrastructure at risk. Signatories include Anthropic, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Oracle, Cisco, IBM, CrowdStrike, Hugging Face and others. OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, urged governments and businesses to act immediately.
